Keyra was born and raised on the Big Island and resided in Waimea until attending high school at Kamehameha Schools on O'ahu. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon and received her Juris Doctor degree from Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon. During law school, she clerked in the appeals division for the County of Maui Department of Prosecuting Attorney and at the State of Oregon Appellate Commissioner’s Office. She also focused on land use issues while clerking in the Real Estate and Land Use practice group at Saalfeld Griggs and as a clerk at the Land Use Board of Appeals in Salem, Oregon. Prior to graduating from Willamette, she clerked at the Office of Clackamas County Counsel in Oregon City, Oregon, where she focused primarily on Real Estate and Land Use issues.
Following graduation from Willamette, she served as a judicial clerk to the Hon. Valeri L. Love at the Lane County Circuit Court in Eugene, Oregon and assisted Judge Love in juvenile, criminal, and civil matters. After her clerkship, she joined the County of Hawaii's Office of the Corporation Counsel where she practiced in the office's counseling and drafting division for three years before becoming a deputy prosecuting attorney for the County of Hawaii. In January 2021, Keyra joined private practice with the Law Offices of Yeh & Kim.
Keyra is licensed to practice law in Hawaii and Oregon (inactive) and is admitted to appear before the United States District Court of the District of Hawai`i. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband (Travis) and daughter (Kaimila).
